For sale are a pair of vintage Altec Lansing Iconic 846A Valencia speakers. These are the earlier version with lattice grills and 16 ohm drivers.
Fantastic and well regarded speakers from Altec's glory days. I bought these along with quite a lot of vintage tube stereo equipment from the estate of the original owner, but unfortunately no longer have room for more large speakers in my house and these deserve much much better than being used in my basement. I would keep them but slightly prefer my 604c's and I've decided to use small British BBC monitors in my secondary setup. They sound as they should and are quite high efficiency - making them perfect for use with tube equipment, but they are currently being used with a vintage solid state and do sound quite good with that.
Or, if you are looking to get into tube gear, I will be listing soonish a Fisher x-202B, a Scott 340B, and an HK A250 Ballad, all of which would drive the Valencia's with watts to spare
The cabinets are in really nice shape and the grills are beautiful as well, with one small repair having been done by the previous owner (see pictures), better than 95% of the examples I've seen. Please be aware that these are quite large and heavy speakers and be prepared for that when purchasing. Needless to say these are for local pickup, just north of Chicago. I've priced them to move fairly quickly as, well, I have far too much stuff and I'd like to have less
There's oodles of info on them online including this nice piece in stereophile

Listening #125
Monday, January 14, was a difficult day for the abandoned amusement park that is my body. In the morning, I packed two Lamm ML2.2 amplifiers into their wooden crates and wrestled them outside for collection by some unlucky air-freight courier. After that, I backed up my car to the tiny front...Let me know if you require more pictures or have any questions, a video in action can be seen at New video by zim bida
