Great Plains 604C crossover vs Altec K vs Markwart

Picked these up over the summer. Really only thing left is to decide what wire and how much I need to wire up the 620 cabinets.

Looking for suggestions. Thinking Duelund 16awg tin plate copper. 10 meters

Looking forward to seeing your progress! I cheaped out on mine a bit and have always wondered just how much difference the foil wound guys would make.

Got some wire. Now need to figure out what I h
Want to mout the parts on and play around with some layout configurations.

Peg board with zip ties are a great way to play with layouts. Sometimes you never get off it...

10 meters should work. I started with 25 feet of 16awg Neotech stranded teflon and needed a bit more for my Markwarts in 620 cabs. I could have been more conservative with it, but there was some trial and error involved. In the end I used ~4m to connect the crossover to the driver in each speaker (1m for each lead), ~1ft on the crossover itself, then maybe 2ft to connect it to the internal binding posts. So, estimated ~10m total.

If I ever rebuild them I’ll try the Duelund. It might be easier to work with. I tried the dual jacketed 16awg as speaker cables and if I was committed to it I’d probably skip the binding posts and go directly from amp to crossover.

Looking forward to seeing your results!

Did you put your crossover internal or external to the cabinet?
