I've been looking for front-loaded bass bins/cabinets suitable for 8" woofers and drivers. Front loaded designs have the added benefit of having the drivers/woofers sitting further back allowing for easy phase alignment of the other drivers. The JBL 4560 cabinet caught my interest. It's relatively simple construction, easily modifiable to include a horn and what-nots. Also, it may work as a cabinet for full range drivers.

Below is a to-scale JBL 4560 model for an 15" driver/woofer next to the TA-66 for an 8" driver/woofer. It's a beast!

I'll be resizing the JBL 4560 cabinet for 8" drivers/woofers. Also, there will be a version for 4" drivers. Think CHB. ;)

The original JBL 4560 is quite a beast. Since you are thinking about building the TA-7331-A, below is a view of these guys side by side. The TA-7331-A is second from the left.

Also, the 8" JBL 4560 can be modified to accommodate two drivers/woofers by growing taller. I quite like the compact foot print.

Nice,
I plan on starting on TA-7331 in January
I started to put the panels in a sheet layout program this morning but got side tracked.
Going to build Lucy pair of Frugal horns for Christmas and put together a nice headroom system for her.
So the TA's can be next.

Very cool! If you’re ever in my neighborhood and would like a pair of full-sized 4560 cabinets for ahem.. research, I‘d gladly trade for a pair of the smaller 8” model 😉. I’d love to put together an indoor version of my portable boombox.

I really enjoy following your creations, keep up the good work!
