With about 17hrs play time so far. Sweet. Uncorrected in any way. No peaks, spikes, dips, etc. Real easy on the ears. I'm using a Mini DSP HD and still have some sorting to do. I've spent the last 3 days trying to figure out how to operate it correctly. These drivers do not go well with low power tube amps so I'm putting some serious power to these. In the neighborhood of 100w. Serious power to me since I gave my son the EL34 pp amp.

Jordans do like some power behind them.

    Beautiful speakers. :)

The Jordans have relatively lower sensitivity than most wideband drivers, so it makes sense they respond well to higher power. I'd love to hear that stereo

Wife's been away for 4 days and I'm starting to feel like I'm turning into an audiophile slut. Haven't shaved, showered or even got out of my pj's. Haven't eaten much either. Been effing with this darn Mini DSP HD trying to make it perform like it can when teamed up with REW. Slowly making headway, 'I think'. Rooms filled with sweet music 15hrs a day though. Wearing out my 103r though.

I think I'm zeroing in on being able to plot a graph with this digital contraption I bought, with the help (patience) of a fella on the REW forum. All my previous measurements go in the trash. These are the latest plots and they emit sound's 666.jpg 777.jpg that are very pleasing to my ears.

How the hell do you pull that off? Retired? Landed gentry?

Been retired for 10 years. We used to own rental property but it all got trashed. Consequently, our 2 son now occupies the homes 000.jpg

All those above pics throw in the trash I didn't have a clue what I was doing trying to EQ and compensate for room corrections. time delay, etc. A guy from elsewhere took me under his wing and for the last week or more we are fast approaching a conclusion. The sound filling our house has never sounded so good. Got to stop wondering what a pair of Voxitives would sound like. I've had a mic nailed to the floor for a week fearing someone would move it. That would be a no-no. All's well here. Wish you were hear. Sounds glorious.
No smoothing on this pic. 30.jpg

Whoa that's crazy good results. What speaker combo are you getting these with?

Thee are much nicer. Eikona 2's & Beta 15's. The above graph is deceiving because the scale on the left is very wide and results will always look decent. 199.jpg

So in what way have the Eikona sound signature changed since you got them and since you have imolemnted sound shaping techniques?

Well, I'll tell you what I think. Using a DSP can change anyone's sound reproduction. Not so much as it changes the sound signature of a given driver it just helps get the best of what you have to work with. Talking about soundstage, imaging & depth of field the Mini DSP Hd has stepped up to the plate. There's that center image everyone talks about but it goes way beyond that. Imaging is fantastic and you can pick out where the horns are, the drums, the piccolo, etc. pretty cool and I can't turn it off. Getting to the point I'm at now could not have been done by myself with my pee brain mentality. Were only half way there and were taking a break and going to Molokai for a while to regroup. There's much more to be had such as room correction, time delays, Fir filters and such. Should have stayed in school. It's all good.

Man you really are getting into this stuff Mike! I have only scratched the surface of DSP as I use it for my subs.

And that can be a real problem at times. I find myself locked in the house doing nothing but trying to conquer this DSP stuff. Exactly what I've been doing for 2 weeks. Hawaii's going to be a nice break.
