Length of our daylight on 7 December 2017 is (was!) ca. 9 hours and 2 minutes :(
    Tomorrow there'll be even less...

Twilight this time of year is brief but intense :)

How do you like your solar system? My son installs them. You sure that pickup can pull that trailer? :)

The solar's OK -- it preheats water (only) for the domestic hot water (and when it can, of course)... I am not sure it was actually worth the expense.

We like the PVs; in fact the bank visible on the garage are brand-new and not on-line yet.

The trailer is a little four wheel garden cart, although it can be pulled by a (lawn) tractor.

I've had some lovely sunsets lately. This was from about a month ago, as my wife Alejandra and I were walking back from the Basilica Sacre Coeur in Paris. The neighborhood down the slope of the hill its on is a time capsule to another era, so I tried to crop out any modernity (those dang trash cans!) and edited a bit to give the look of early color film.

If you have seen the movie Amelie, this neighborhood is where much of it was filmed. 23467396_10155094718963601_4522037054374849195_o.jpg

Thank you. We had to recompose about 10 times to let bicycles and tourists walk by. The sky that night was beautiful.

I've started doing quick photo editing on my ipad pro, its very relaxing. I use a combination of Lightroom, Pixelmator, and the apple photo adjustments inherent to the device. I also use an app called "Mextures" which is pretty goofy but fun, just a bunch of layer/emulsion/grime/etc simulation for goofing around. But sometimes it can just add a subtle something to a shot that's needed to remove that super clean sterile digital veneer.
