Hello from Corvallis, OR

Found my way here last evening while searching out info on SACD ripping and discovered that I'd come to the right place. I'm retired and have been an audiophile since buying a Fisher 500C receiver at the Subic Bay Navy Exchange in 1964. Spent a couple of years in the late 1970s doing high-end retail (Garland Audio, San Jose, CA), but spent the majority of my working years in employee and labor relations before wrapping up as a university athletics department IT administrator.

Owing to shared-living-space considerations, my "serious" listening these days occurs most often to rips and hi-res downloads on the bedroom system (#3, pictured front-and-rear in the thumbnail). I'm fortunate enough to have a spouse who tolerates the "esthetic sensibilities" I've demostrated in "decorating" the bedroom walls (as well as those in System #1's living-dining room).

Welcome to HiFi Haven Jim, even though a bedroom hifi such as yours does require a tolerant spouse, the overall look there is quite nice, not too bad at all aesthetically speaking!

You've come to the right place for the SACD ripping, it'll be no sweat with your soon to be delivered S590.

Welcome to The Haven, Jim. :)

I used to visit Garland Audio in the late 1970s whenever I visited friends in San Jose. It's very possible that we met. :)

Ran into John Garland years later when he was working in Reno.

Very nice system you have. Nice attention to the set up. :)

Welcome, Jim.
We found HiFi Haven for similar reasons but you will enjoy it here for more than the info you get regarding SACD ripping.

Could be that we met. Wouldn't that be something. It was a great place to work, thanks to John. After Reno, he headed to the Seattle area and was into making cables before we lost touch in the early 2000's.

Thanks, Mikey. I'll make sure to put the Autoscript folder in the thumb's root. :-)

Very nice, especially the Native Alaskan Indian artwork. ;)

Superbe room treatments and welcome to The Haven!
