For my first tube amplifier built ever, the Bugle 45 has a lot of appeal. The circuitry is simple enough for a noob like myself to follow. Since I like the idea of using the either the 45 or 46 tube with design, I built it that way.

The chassis is made from glued and stacked baltic plywood.

The chassis top is brass plate. Hand sanded, machined and coated.

Wiring and soldering is amateurish - my first time ever.

The left monoblock is done. That's a 46 tube sitting on a handmade converter socket.

Whew.

Yes, I read up quite a bit and searched for all the Bugle 45 wiring pictures I could. A posting from @opa1 on this forum some time ago with pictures really helped. The hardest thing for me was to figure out the connections to the 6072A tube socket. I enlarged an image of the connections from opa1's post and traced it with the schematic. Also, I had access to three electrical engineering colleagues at work. They were all very helpful once they stopped laughing.

Very well done!

I would love to know more about the half size Voigt horn. it seems you have access to a CNC?

Did you have Heyboer wind the transformers? I know they have the PT for the Bugle.

Rookie mistake. :o

So, I've been burning in the amp for a few days now. The sound became clearer. However, the volume remained fairly low. Upon checking the components versus the schematic, I discovered that all the 1K resistors were actually 100K. What??? Turned out I ordered the correct resistor value. However, the shop picked the 100K resistors and labeled the bag as 1K.

Just ordered the correct value resistors from Mouser. Will not get them until Wednesday.

In the mean time, I got started on the second one. Getting a little better at wire routing. :)
