Today I got the 26” Skylan 2-post stands, 35lb bucket of kitty litter, the NuPrime IDA-16 intergrated and enough time to set it all up. The speakers came to me with only 15 or so hours on them... so I think some more run in is necessary before passing judgment. Also, don’t think these silver single run of Clear Day speaker cables is a good match. Thinking I might roll my own Duelund wires.

Will report back. System is as follows:

Node2i > Coax into the NuPrime IDA-16 > Clear Day Single Run Silver speaker cables > Harbeth P3ESR’s on Skylan stands.

This'll be interesting. I've never heard those in a room that was remotely suited to them. It was always in a cavernous concrete block room called Decibel Audio that precluded any judgement call on them.

I like how minimal this system looks.

Is it me or does everything just look better when you have it set up? Must be the lighting.;)

I mean... I AM an overly aesthetic person.

So far... I love these. I have no doubt they are going to send the LS50W's packing as much as I liked that simplicity. This is about as simple of a system as you can get while going with passive speakers. I'm going to tweak and tune for the next month or so. But dang... it's weird to get something and truly GET the hype.

Update. The harbeths have been streaming and in use for most of the day. They’ll have 30hrs on them before I go to bed tonight.

I pulled out the Clear Day Singles which are really more suited to low watt tubes, SET etc... and rolled in a (long) set of home brewed cables using vintage Western Electric 16ga tin plated copper wire and Audioquest Bananas. The “edge” or “brassy” quality I was hearing last night is gone. I am pretty confident it was the small gauge, single-run, silver wires were the culprit of that.

These sound more natural now and I’m loving them. And the NuPrime. I think the combo is really good. I ordered up a few meters of the new Duelund Dual DCA12GA wire and spades and bananas from Parts Connexion to make my own 2m wires for this system. Based on what I’m hearing from the vintage WE wire and my other experience with Duelund wire, I think it’s going to be a good match.

I had forgotten that you had the LS50Ws, I do remember you waiting for the speakers (or stands?) to arrive, but don't recall seeing anything after that.

I do have to ask; was there a ceremony or ritual that was performed before you were let into the club?:p
