Yes and for AutoRip in particular, use of the NTFS formatting is best as it removes the 4GB folder size limitation of FAT32.Dear members!
With regard to the format of the drive that contains the AutoScript folder, I consulted the manuals of the different Sony players too in order to know what format(s) should theoretically do(es) the trick. It seems that at least for the newer models (S790, S6200, S7200, S6500, S6700 and probably others) even an NTSF formatted HDD seems to work fine.
I hooked a 1TB HDD formatted as is, i. e. NTSF, to my rip capable S6700 and the ripping based on the AutoRip method proceeded correctly without any glitch.
I will try the same thing with the other models I just mentioned.
If this information is of any help, please feel free to take advantage of it.
Kind regards from Switzerland, enjoy listening to your SACD ripped music!

Some SACDs with multichannel content will exceed the 4GB folder size limit of FAT32, resulting in truncation. So NTFS is best with AutoRip to get around that potential issue. All players brands I've tried so far are compatible with flash drives that are NTFS formatted.
With an Oppo player exFAT formatting also works, probably the Oppo clones too, but I haven't yet tested that.
