WTB On Hold - Wanted Garrard 301 or 401, plus a golden goose.

Want to Buy
Honestly. But from @JP with full confidence. That deck will be spinning on speed long after we are gone.

I've already called dibs on one (probably the first photo - I'm going to DIY my plinth and already have an arm).

I think JP has more than one. Heck, I may be convinced to sell my prodigal Son Mk.II to upgrade to a MkIII that I have been himming and hahing on from JP.

I had to update the thread title as JP was kind enough to enable, I mean part with one of his MKii’s, which is now in my hands!
Do I need a 301 or 401? No. Do I want a 301 or 401? Yes! Do I think either will better the mkii? No. Don’t ask why I still want one (this hobby is a sickness…).:)

I eagerly await your review on the MKII- congratulations!

And the followup review on a 301/401 that undoubtedly will follow…
Thanks, I am going back and forth between buying a stock plinth (they aren’t bad looking), or building my own custom unit (I’d go all out of course). The first option would keep the project que more manageable too.
The 301 has been on my audio bucket list for a while, so I definitely wont turn down a good deal on one. The 401 is supposed to be improved and has a neat mcm flare, so it stays on the radar.

I'm having no regrets on buying the Ebay plinth from Moldova - the only PITA was drilling out the armboard cavity (at some point, I'll route it out, but for now, it works just fine with the forstner-bit holes).

My new rule of thumb to keep from buying more than I need (hoarding) and having more than two three of one thing; for every one piece of equipment I buy, I have to sell two.
@Audionut , excellent rule, but it’s YOUR rule of thumb, so just changing the rule by unanimous consent of ONE and oops, I have five ;) Ask me how I know? :smoke
