The digital coaxial output on my quasi-beloved Marantz CC3000 is kaput, with a solder pad having lifted off the PCB. Repair is beyond my skills, and it’s not worth paying somebody.

I’m looking for a disc-spinner, and I’m agnostic on CD player, transport, universal player, or changer. I want it to do a good job as a CD transport, yes, but I’m also concerned with it having a digital coaxial output, a quick, quiet tray, a readable display, fast load time, responsive controls, and functional ergonomics.

Budget is sort of open-ended, but I would prefer under $200 shipped to 45420. More might be possible for something just right. Have pity on a poor boy!

I might be able to help you out. I’ve got a spare Sony DVP-S7700 on the shelf.

@John Frum are you looking for a CD changer, or just a CD player w/ digital out? If the latter, I could send the Sony I mentioned above to you for the price of packing & shipping (e.g., think of it as a rescue CD from the local electronics pound), if it would meet your needs.

Can’t turn that down! Certainly, it would make a good indefinite placeholder. Thanks!
