Can't remember if you're still running the Juicy Music phono stage. If you are, there's some tubes out there calling your name.
If you have the gear for it, there's always tubes.

I'm not currently running it...but might. I've run out of room but am thinking of putting my little-used CD player back in hiding, which opens up my world to having room for the Juicy Music, or another phono stage. And yes, TUBES! I bought new tubes for it right before the world shut down and it got packed up, actually. Can't remember if you're still running the Juicy Music phono stage. I have some speaker cables I need to assemble...good idea. I was just going to wire them up bare wire but I could get all fancy with them.i find that little DIY projects can sometimes scratch the itch. build a few cables, repair a crossover. YMMV
I have 6 Empire 2000/variants sitting in a box here. Ever messed with those?I’m leaning towards a new cart for my wife’s turntable. Which sits alongside my turntable. It’s a full auto linear tracking Mitsubishi LT-30 that she doesn’t need to touch the arm on. Something totally opposite to the Ortofon LOMC on my turntable. MM or MI. I was thinking Grado but I’ve never quite loved any Grados I’ve heard. Liked a few. Maybe haven’t given them a proper chance.
I have, a little...they're very nice carts. Though I'm not sure I ever had a great stylus for one?I have 6 Empire 2000/variants sitting in a box here. Ever messed with those?
I usually scratch my itch by building something, these days. Last thing was a pair of Radio Shack (Solo something?) that were on the curb... small speakers with very nice wood cabinets and junk drivers.
Ended up using some spare drivers and crossover components to make them into small two-ways that are in my office now.
I use the metal ones under my Audio Notes. They're awesome. Now you can get those cool Iso-acoustic stands instead. They look pretty sharp.
Yup. I found an old Philips CD50\ for chump-change and recapped it / upgraded op amps / damped the chassis to scratch the shiny new (old) thing itch. #WINNINGi find that little DIY projects can sometimes scratch the itch. build a few cables, repair a crossover. YMMV

You're not helping! And yes I know all about that Proceed CDP Hmm. Maybe?I have a home for your FR-24...the Nottingham Analogue TT I'm selling includes an FR-24 mount.
Also, that Proceed has a CDM-1 Mk2 transport and dual PCM63P DACs. That's some seriously good stuff.
I could always sell you just the ‘table and then you wouldn’t be tempted by the arm. You're not helping! And yes I know all about that Proceed CDP Hmm. Maybe?
And if I bought your Nottingham I'd keep that -Audiomods- arm on it-- yum.
You're so kind! I could do this if you buy me a bigger house. (currently looking for one...another reason that itch can't be scratched).I could always sell you just the ‘table and then you wouldn’t be tempted by the arm.
I bought a fancy plant. Does that count?Room improvements.
I find cartridges are good for scratching the itch because they take up no space, don’t require massive shifting around of gear, and make a huge difference in sound.I have, a little...they're very nice carts. Though I'm not sure I ever had a great stylus for one?
I have a very nice Empire 999 ze/x that I need to get retipped, too.
thats an april fools thing - but got me to thinking about the effects of plants in listening rooms. will start a thread on it.Apparently some do.
Darko on Plants
My Christmas tree in my little house in Michigan had a very positive affect on room acoustics. This plant is a smaller rubber plant, but it does sit right in front of one of my speakers.thats an april fools thing - but got me to thinking about the effects of plants in listening rooms. will start a thread on it.
