Our youngest daughter and her boyfriend moved to Klamath Falls OR in April for his National Forestry Service wildfire fighting gig, so now I watch the weather there on my phone app.
I now receive weather alerts that startle me a little. Instead of the severe thunderstorm, etc. warnings we receive here in WNY, I see warnings like this:
I hope your area doesn't get hit hard this year with wildfires! I've viewed the fire season predictions, and they don't look good.

Our temperature here in Sunny Limburg South Netherlands is...... 26 degrees C (78.8F ) with a high of 34 forecast next week.

I'm afraid Washington will be burned terribly this year. This year we're starting with a drought going into fire season, and have apparently already had a record number of early fires. Last year was bad enough... more than 700,000 acres...most of that our high desert sage country. It's gonna be hard on the Sage Grouse population.

We did have a 95 degree (Fahrenheit, for all y'all who live in civilized countries and use the metric units of measurement) day a week or so ago, but things have been more normal lately.

We got into the 80's TWO days in a row. 31% humidity. I think we go back to normal tomorrow.
Yesterday the little town of Lytton, BC set a new Canadian record for highest recorded temperature - 46.6 C. Which is also known as 115.88 F. They quite commonly get hot in the summer, but not THAT hot. They must wanna be like Arizona or sumthin.
My family is almost all in Oregon (direct relations in northern / middle / eastern Oregon, in-laws in southern Oregon) and fire season last year was terrifying. I'm worried about this year because (a) it is try and hot as hell and (b) all those burned-out areas now have fresh growth which is dried out.
Of course, you haven't really lived in the PNW until you've experienced volcano warnings.
Last year was horrible (I just happened to be driving on Hwy 512 / 167 when that big fire off of Hwy 410 started). I'm worried this year will be worse.
I'm certainly expecting more fires this year. Every time I drive over the McKenzie or Santiam passes I see the results of the fires last summer. This is too hot, too early and for too long a stretch. Several afternoon thunderstorms have been happening also. I am glad I took all of the Juniper trees off my property. Put a metal roof on the shop and have no flammable vegetation near the house. That's about as safe as I can get in the middle of the high desert.

Prior to Sunday, the previous record was set in 1937. Sunday's record lasted all of one day. Monday saw them with 47.5 C, aka 117.5 F. Too hot for me. ☀️☀️☀️
The area where my Mom's house is (just west of Portland on the slope of the West Hills) got up to ~ 117 F yesterday. Thankfully, she was staying with my aunt in Salem (where it was also 117 F) who has air conditioning for a couple of days. At the closest weather station to our house (about 2 miles away) it got up to 111 F.
Average historical temperature is 72. That's 39 degrees higher.
