NBA Championship

Great game last night, exciting finish.
The Bucks are certainly in the driver's seat now, it would be their first title in 50 years, since a young Kareem Abdul Jabbar and an aging Oscar Robertson brought home the franchise's only championship way back in 1971.

I'm heading home to WI to watch Game 6 Tuesday with my Bucks buddies from the '70s.
I'll be at their place in Oshkosh, but were we 35 years younger we'd be downtown like in the old days.

All I watched so far is the last 3 minutes of Game 5. I was pretty upset at the free throw shooting, but that steal/alley oop was a thing of beauty!

Bucks in 6!

Weird 1st 2 quarters.
I started on the second, which was the suns catching up and getting a lead. Only to give it up and tie by half. The suns need to get it together or this might be their last game.
I am not sure if I like the way the game is being called by the ref’s? (Has its pro’s and con’s)
It might be getting away from them though.

A truly MVP performance by Giannis, he dropped 50, and the Bucks have their first title in 50 years.
He was quite impressive, definitely carried the team. Too bad the suns didn’t have an answer for him. Congrat’s to all Bucks fans!

I'm back in WI watching with my Bucks buddies from the '70s and we are quite happy.
I'm 2 for 2 on Championship Game visits now, as the Packers won back in '96 when I came home too!

The moderator on a sports board I am a member at put it very well in terms the way the game was being called (as well as the last few). Giannis is a stud but I'm not sure what the suns can do when they are calling fouls before they ever even happen. The refs really let him get away with a lot.
Booker needed to step up and he didn't. Both he and Ayton will be fantastic in the coming years. The Dario Saric injury really hindered the Suns ability to make Giannis work harder. It was pretty much the perfect injury to help the Bucks at this juncture.

I'm not a big NBA fan and one of the reasons has always been that the superstars get preferential treatment, at least to my eyes. Jordon could travel at will, Shaq could use his big but and bulk to clear lanes to the basket, and Lebron has averaged somewhere around 1.5 fouls per game ( I looked that up years ago. Maybe has changed?). Yeah these are old examples. Just shows how long it has been since I paid attention to the NBA.

I guess this is probably true in most professional sports, but for some reason it really bugs me in the NBA.

Congrats Bucks and thanks Suns!

I am a Lakers fan but it sure is nice to see some smaller market teams doing well!

Monster game and playoffs by Giannis, congrats!

And such class/sportsmanship by Phoenix coach Monty Williams.

The refs can really swing a games momentum in a call or two. I did see a fun fact where one of the refs isn’t a fan favorite of Chris Paul and visa versa. There we’re a couple plays that didn’t get calls and fizzled the suns late run.…in the end; the suns should not have put themselves in a situation where a referee or a call or two would make or break them. They “should have” dominated and put the Bucks away early, but C’est lavie.
The suns and bucks both have very bright futures! Congrat’s to the champs!
