Using 16 gauge over such a long run seems a bit risky, what is the nominal impedance of the Special Forty?I used to have some of that and was trying to remember where I got it. That could work....and if it doesn't, its not a big loss.

Well that’s the other thing. I’ve been mostly looking at 14 gauge. Longest run is 50 feet.Using 16 gauge over such a long run seems a bit risky, what is the nominal impedance of the Special Forty?
14 gauge should be good to about 60 feet at a nominal 6 Ohms.Well that’s the other thing. I’ve been mostly looking at 14 gauge. Longest run is 50 feet.
No. There's an outlet on the wall to the left of them but rather far from the right speaker. Are there plugs on that wall where the speakers are?
The wire arrived just as I was headed out the door for a two week trip. Someday.Yeah, but it looks good.
Enjoy your trip my friend! The wire arrived just as I was headed out the door for a two week trip. Someday.
Thank you my friend. We’re in Colombia for sad but inevitable reasons, but it is good to be here. A circus of a city (bogota) with lovely relatives. It’s been a stressful year as my wife’s mom has been ill, and the stereo has taken a back seat. Between that and buying a condo and Covid and crazy remote work then in person then back to remote- the stereo was maybe waiting to be something to look forward to when this has all settled.Enjoy your trip my friend!
Sorry for the tough times my friend. Definitely a weird period in time.Thank you my friend. We’re in Colombia for sad but inevitable reasons, but it is good to be here. I hope you’re well, Paul. Happy you’re here.
The crazy thing is they export most of it- its actually harder to get good coffee here than in the U.S.!He's always teasing us with those fine Columbian beans.
I have a pair of PS-10s, kicking around on a shelf over at my wife's shop. I ended up using the rebuilt EPI 100s instead, but they're nice. There used to be a record store that I'd go to occasionally that had them. I wish that store was still around, as I've moved to what would be about a block from them. They always sounded nice in the store, as did a pair of the awesome looking Design Acoustics D12 hexagon-ball speakers I heard in a record store in Portland once.
Hmm... I'm looking for a pair of vintage speakers for my office (the sunroom in the this thread, no more audiophile pretensions for this room. Maybe a pair of those PS10s... though I was thinking of Dynaco A25s as I miss the pair I used to have.
