Need smaller speakers- where to go, what to do?

I used to have some of that and was trying to remember where I got it. That could work....and if it doesn't, its not a big loss.
Using 16 gauge over such a long run seems a bit risky, what is the nominal impedance of the Special Forty?

Well that’s the other thing. I’ve been mostly looking at 14 gauge. Longest run is 50 feet.

14 gauge should be good to about 60 feet at a nominal 6 Ohms.

That I wouldn't worry about even though it's still cutting it just a bit close, but I'd certainly skip the 16 gauge for that application. 12 gauge would be even better in my opinion with a high current amp, but none of that kind of thing is etched in stone, nominal being nominal and all. My 2 cents.

Alright I ordered a hundred feet of flat 14g wire and stacked everything approximately where it will go.

Slowest system setup ever. Can you tell that audio isn’t the priority to me that it once was?

Getting there!

Enjoy your trip my friend!
Thank you my friend. We’re in Colombia for sad but inevitable reasons, but it is good to be here. A circus of a city (bogota) with lovely relatives. It’s been a stressful year as my wife’s mom has been ill, and the stereo has taken a back seat. Between that and buying a condo and Covid and crazy remote work then in person then back to remote- the stereo was maybe waiting to be something to look forward to when this has all settled.

I hope you’re well, Paul. Happy you’re here.

Sorry for the tough times my friend. Definitely a weird period in time.

Please drink a gallon of that wonderful Columbian style coffee for me.

There used to be a record store that I'd go to occasionally that had them. I wish that store was still around, as I've moved to what would be about a block from them. They always sounded nice in the store, as did a pair of the awesome looking Design Acoustics D12 hexagon-ball speakers I heard in a record store in Portland once.

Hmm... I'm looking for a pair of vintage speakers for my office (the sunroom in the this thread, no more audiophile pretensions for this room. Maybe a pair of those PS10s... though I was thinking of Dynaco A25s as I miss the pair I used to have.
I have a pair of PS-10s, kicking around on a shelf over at my wife's shop. I ended up using the rebuilt EPI 100s instead, but they're nice.

Well I finally got my main system hooked up. Lots of flat 14g wire from Straightwire, some mixing and matching of components, and playing with speaker placement and a turntable whose setup got botched in the move. Finally it’s making music.

The Dynaudio speakers were a pain in the ass, to be honest, but sound good now. They only liked one combination of sources and pre/amp. The placement was critical - off a bit and they lost their image or bass. But I got it right and they opened up and threw a big soundstage. I was worried for a bit, but I think they’ll work out.
