A rare blast from the past: Johnny Cash and Dan Hicks at the Carousel Ballroom SF 1968

If only we could all see how our sound waves reverberated around a room.

"Dr. Stanley sat down with KPIX 5 to discuss his father’s legacy.

He told us that during one acid trip, his father saw how sound waves reverberated around a room. It showed him how traditional stereo sound systems did not do the trick."

I noticed that. Dad tripping, now that's something I could never imagine.🥺

Off topic . My Father was 35 years older than I. He asked to smoke some pot to see what it was like. Pink Floyd and headphones followed. The "click" on the 8 track caused him to fall out of the chair. He never asked again. I will stick with my "Blatz".
Given my own father's predilection for alcohol after returning home from WW2 and afterward for several years in Frankfurt am Main, I might think pot would've been an improvement.

All Cash...bummer, because it's an excellent recording in a small venue.
Too bad. I really like Dan Hicks. He had a droll sense of humor that went well with his live performances. Hopefully the tapes still exist and they will be released at some time in the future. This concert may have been when David LaFlamme was still the "Hot Licks" violinist before he left Hicks to form "Its A Beautiful Day".
