The Coral "holey basket" thread

I did... but I'm kinda lazy these days when it comes to woodworking, or more specifically speaker building. So, those were my second choice after the large OB cabinets. If you're willing to experiment with them I'd be happy to send them to you for nothing but the cost of shipping.
Thanks but I too am lazy... and I too have some Corals here, along with other drivers to try in those cabinets when someone finally builds 'em!

I’m sure they would work fine, but with even less low end. The holey baskets won’t likely make a bunch of bass to begin with, so this could lead to disappointing results.
With larger drivers, or with a sub, this may not be an issue.
I’ve used the Eminence 15a drivers in a diy h-baffle to cover lf duties with great success.
The h baffles are very easy to diy, and drivers like the 15a can be had inexpensively. There are probably some decent woofers that would work at parts express buyout or clearance.
If I recall correctly, the footprint of my h baffles are 18x18”, so not too terribly big.

I've started sketching and prepping a cut list for a quick and dirty set of Telefunky's for the shop. I'll make removable baffle plates so I can play with lots of drivers. Obviously my holey baskets are on the list to try.
If I'm lucky, I'll get in the shop tomorrow and make some noise and a mess.
I'll start a thread when I make some actual progress....

Oh I'm definitely planning on enlisting you to help. It may be a while yet before I start, depends on how my house to-do list looks after the party next weekend.
I've scaled them up slightly, to have a ~18" wide baffle, so that 15" drivers could be put in.

I'm still planning on building the telefunken cabinets at some point, but I've got a lot in front of them. I did score another very mint holey basket last weekend. the suspension on this one is nice and soft too, was in a very mint tc-500a.
...and another bump. I just picked up a cosmetically challenged Sony TC-500a (they must have made a ton of these back in the day). So I now have another set of the Tamura iron (thinking a 45 SE build) and of course the holey baskets.
Drivers themselves are in really nice shape and surrounds look to be pliant.
Those telefunken cabinets look interesting, It not sure where I’d put them. Anyone ever tried these in something like a baby onken?

I don't ever recall finding a pair of these in the wild.
That said, I never really looked for 'em.

On topic without knowing, really, anything about the characteristics of these drivers 
-- anyone ever "do" these in a (folded)TQWT or a TL enclosure? I like that small driver in a tall, slender cabinet aesthetic, I guess.
