Matrix multicell horns - deconstruction and reproduction attempts

Nice progress! Just a few observations: - do you know what the flare frequency is of the driver that you'll be using (presumably an 802/808)? As ideally you'd aim to have the same or very similar expansion rates in the driver throat, driver/horn adapter and horn itself; - not sure if you use...

There's also this long-running thread on the construction of a multi-cell on diyaudio (including a spreadsheet for the mold of single cell with a flare frequency of 183 Hz (which, is believed to be the throat flare in JBL 2441 and 2445). See: The construction of a multicell horn - diyAudio

Thanks, Joe. If I had to find a replacement, then I’d prolly give these a crack: https://tylko.com/shelves/vinyl_storage/ Not cheap - but customisable to maximise storage space for any given room.

Interesting Horn thread Someplace Else (AA)

If we accept that horn honk can be associated with crossing to a horn too close to its cutoff then it probably stands to reason that using a first order xo in those circumstances isn’t going to help matters. Thanks, guys. Currently in an apartment which is unusually well-proportioned and constructed for Dublin. The shelves are 2x2 ikea traby units - pretty solid things - mdf core with ash veneer. sadly no longer sold. Rather annoying when ikea does that!

    Greetings from Dublin

Thanks, guys. I went hard on hifi and hifi forums a few years back and was lucky to pick up most of the gear and records before the kids and vinyl became fashionable again. Am actually really looking forward to starting the DIY thing and learning/doing stuff. I wish I had the space for my...
