3D printing shenanigans

I have a 3D printed tractrix horn laying around. Just received a 2" full range driver in the mail.... Put the two together - just like peanut butter and chocolate! :)

Sounds a lot bigger than a 2" driver has the right to. Vocals and instruments are clear and sharp. But, LF is really muddy - ughh. Igor, back to the lab.

So, I've been in full mad-scientist mode for the past two weeks. Found a CoreXY D-bot printer for sale locally. The guy who built it was a software engineer.... His built was fairly tame. I wanted to modify it to be capable of printing at superduper high temperatures and speed (Yup, this puppy can now go up to 500C). Mechanically, the modifications were fairly straight forward. Software-wise, wow, I've never been in so deep over my head. But, got to soldier on... Finally got it to print and run. The printer is 300x300x300mm. Once I understand the setup better, I want to build one capable of printing up to 300x300x600mm ~(12x12x24in).

I like the idea of 3D printing was looking into just a few days ago for amp chassis, found a nice company, just me bloody useless a mech CAD design.
Have anybody worked with this company? and how much would say a standard 17inch chassis cost? and what material?
Me not good at mechanical stuff at all, I build amp in biscuit tin but they are all now plastic muck.

I have not used commercial 3D printing houses preferring DIY. Most of these places will provide quotes based on your STL file, the intended materials and the desired print resolution. As a rough estimate, printing cost varies from $3.50 to $5.00 per print hour plus materials. Some of the larger or more complex prints may take days.

With regards to material selections, PLA is much more common and is available in a wide variety of additives/blends such as wood, metal, carbon fiber.... For harsher environments such as high heat or chemical resistance or strengths, PETG, Nylon and other specialty filaments may be required. If the chassis is not subjected to much heat, PLA may be a good choice.
