Some say that I am "ate up" with 45 singles...

yeah. you do.

pointless, egocentric ramble follows: My father was in broadcasting in the late 1950s. He had boxes full of 'em.
I still have a couple hundred -- many of the rest ended up going to his brother in law, who loaded a vintage (1950s) jukebox with 'em and had it in his pool table room in the basement in Greensboro, NC. Fond memories of listening and (badly) shooting pool down there.

Smokey Joe's Cafe was a fave.

I just went through the collection here- mostly 45s my parents had bought or inherited. Odd they had accumulated ANY 45s, because they didn’t have a lasting love affair with music- by the 70’s, it was pretty much AM radio, a pair of 8-tracks (a single Abba and a single Elvis greatest hits), and not much more. I think a Village People 8-track made the collection.

Anyhow, they beer neglected and abused and stored poorly but I spent a good amount of time doing my best to clean them up- plans to spin (and cull the collection) pending.

Now THIS is a collection...

Wow, you have to watch one of the videos of this store, nothing but narrow isles with walls of 45's on 3 floors. This shop is only about an hour from me but sadly I'm not into 45's. I'm surprised I never heard of it before.

According to the article, there's no such thing as browsing there. Most of his business is via the internet, the store has no sign, if you show up in person you have to know what you want, and his motto is "five minutes and you're gone". Not exactly Tower Records.

And his prices are...um..."healthy".

Yea, I saw his price list. Can't believe that folks would pay that much for a 45 single. Seems like a nice enough guy, just don't push his buttons.
I'm sure I could find a lot of great country singles but I never play 45's. It seems that country albums from the 80's and 90's are rather rare, I hardly ever stumble across them. CD's had started taking over by than.

^^^ If I were going to have identically one 45 -- I'd say that one would be an excellent choice. :)
