Are you running Debian or something else ?

You're getting some permission errors. Try adding sudo before the apt-get update command. In fact just run the update command alone to see if there are further errors.

What he said.

I've not seen that error message before, but clearly there is a permissions issue.

I saw this today and when I read, "With this change comes some updated dependency requirements for Roon to work. The most common problem we’ve found is that libicu needs to be installed, so we recommend installing this ahead of the release." I was feeling like I was back in the working world.

Within minutes I got an Email from Andrew at Small Green Computer that read:

Hi David,

In response to an email you may have received from Roon Labs today, the upcoming version of Roon Core works well with sonicTransporter version 2.8, and the libicu is already installed.

All Sonore Roon Ready Players (microRendu, ultraRendu, opticalRendu, Signature Rendu SE) will also continue to work with Roon.

Roon contacted us about 5 months ago and we worked with their engineers to make sure we had everything required for the next version of Roon.

Gotta love that!
