Does anyone here know how to access the diaphragm in an EV coax (12TRXB/15TRXB)?

With your magnet cover being fixed, the tweeter removal may be a different procedure than mine were. For the felt, I trimmed it as close to the cone as I could leaving nearly no felt still attached. I then sent the tweeters to Bob with the lens and felt ring attached. He returned them the same...

Does anyone here know how to access the diaphragm in an EV coax (12TRXB/15TRXB)?

Looking at your pictures, I am fairly certain that you will need to remove the magnet cover as well. You may need to gently tap it side to side with a rubber mallet. I dont think you need to remove the bolts that hold the horn lens on to remove the tweeter, it may be easier with the lens...

Does anyone here know how to access the diaphragm in an EV coax (12TRXB/15TRXB)?

I have successfully performed this procedure on a pair of 15trx (non B variant). IIRC, from where you’re at, the only thing left is to carefully trim the felt away from the woofer cone. The pair I had were the creamy white version so they may have different construction that yours. I used a...

Correct, no remote but I must say that the volume control has a really lovely feel to it. Hard to explain, it’s just smooth and weighty. Though, I realize that a remote is a desirable feature for many. And I agree with those stating the tube like sound of this piece. It does have a lot of the...

LFD LE IV Signiture integrated amplifier-sold

Updated thread to include just the LFD Integrated. Other items are sold. This is a killer integrated that will grow with any system. Sounds great at low volume and has enough power for most speakers. There is no touch screen, dac, or anything else to make it obsolete.

I went to the audio store to listen to some bookshelf speakers

Thanks for the links, I think I’ve read all of those while researching this build. I already have the Deer Creek stands and the ADS 730’s are near identical proportions to the JBL L100’s. My plan is to make the motorboard removable and build one sealed and one with the aperiodic vent to compare...

I went to the audio store to listen to some bookshelf speakers

I am planning to do this very thing soon. I have the Seas woofers and a pair of Seas t25 excel tweeters that I picked up from Pat McGinty when he was cleaning shop. My plan is to use a pair of ADS L730 cabinets that I have on hand. I’ve always admired the ADS cabinet design and the metal grills...

Pass B1 Preamplifier with Korg Nutube Triode

I built one of these and I freakin love it. I had a shootout between a a Mac MX110, a Slagle elmaformer, a Benchmark DAC1 pre, a diy Pass B1, and a B1 Korg running into my restored Fisher 55a’s. Of the 5, I preferred the B1 Korg followed closely by the Slagle Elmaformer. A bargain at $300 is an...

LFD LE IV Signiture integrated amplifier-sold

LFD Model LE IV Signature integrated amp. This is a really nice sounding integrated, the best synergy I’ve found with my Harbeth C7es3’s. The looks seem to be a bit polarizing but I think it looks very cool, fwiw. I peeled the ugly blue vinyl LFD sticker off of the front panel. The amplifier is...

    Beginning the RCA LC-1A adventure.

I’ve got an LC1-a and MI-11411 that I purchased from a guy on AK. The tweeters on both were repaired, though I don’t know what was done or by whom. I believe the voice coils of the original tweeters were repaired somehow but both tweeters now have dust caps rather than than the visible screw...

    The Covid-19 thread.

I am scheduled to receive the vaccine next week. The hospital I work at sent out an FAQ that states both Pfizer and Moderna require 2 shots. From the faq: Do I need 2 doses? Yes. The Pfizer vaccine requires 2 doses 21 days apart and the Moderna vaccine requires 2 doses 28 days apart. Both...
