    FS rek-o-kut rondine jr L34 $300

Very nice. I recently picked up a rek-o-kut b12h that is in a case that looks nearly identical to this one! Anyway, good luck with the sale.

DIY DIY Western Electric Air Core Crossover Inductors

I have a Jensen JAP60 which has the same cone stamp as some of the 12004 I've seen. From what I can gather it's the same speaker. But then I have another Jensen JAP60 which has a different cone stamp. They are both 16ohm, not sure if that helps at all.

    DIY 12b4a preamp

I purchased a transformer coupled 12b4a preamp. The transformers were wound by Dave Slagel specifically for this amp. It sounds very nice, super detailed and revealing. I don’t have a schematic and I don’t know which preamp design it was made from. So far the GE 12b4a has had the least amount...

    Mono

Interesting article. It gave me a privacy warning when I tried to view it but I took the risk. It’s a bit difficult to understand everything especially with the google translate from Russian. For me, my favorite mono setups have been huge speakers that really fill the room. To me they give...

    Mono

Yes I have seen those and I think those are the one to get for my purposes. The Scott 120a preamp Im using has various pre-set record compensation settings but I like the ability to customize more for 78’s which had settings all over the place. Also having the dynaural noise suppression would...

    Tube Values

You likely paid a high retail price for these, so they will likely sell for a good portion less than you paid. Just going by what I see brent sells things for it looks like eBay would get you 50-60% less, and for selling online eBay will generally get you top dollar, but the price of tube sales...

    Mono

I had meant to post this in this thread but posted it in Mrgoodsound’s very cool thread about his telefunken radio mono setup. I decided to try a nicer turntable in my mono setup (Lycan 1211 horn, Altec 416a and 802C compression driver). I put in a Thorens TD 135 with a shure M92 cartridge...

    DIY Telefunken 512WL radio

I decided to try a nicer turntable in the mono setup. I put in a Thorens TD 135 with a shure M92 cartridge with a 2.5 mil stylus. I also tried this turntable with a Bakelite Shure M3D cartridge and a rare original 3 mil stylus but I prefer the Shure M92 in general, even for regular vinyl. I’d...

    DIY Telefunken 512WL radio

I’ve been messing around with a little mono corner setup. Still disorganized and not dialed in but I cobbled together this speaker using a Lycan audio horn (from forum member Trieu aka Tsingtao_1903) with an Altec 802C driver, a beat up Altec 416a in an old Bozak cabinet, with a simple first...

    Whitely Stentorian 10” Duplex 1950s/60’s

Wow I didn’t know Stentorian made duplex speakers. Must be pretty rare! I assume that’s a crossover or capacitor on the side? Have you listened to it? Would love to hear it. Jonas

    Samuel A. Waite Speaker

Wow. Seems like a great combination of nice field coil drivers. Bet they’ll make a great mono setup. What are your plans with powering the field coils and for amplification? Excited to see more! Best, Jonas

Help with cartridge for this tonearm

I'm not sure, but some of the other mono cartridges like the GE-VR2 may fit, as they seem to have similar connector layouts. Are you trying to wire a stereo cartridge in it? If so, you'd need to put some new wire in. I would think you could rig/wire something up to the connectors to fit a...

    Another Artisan Gone

I hope there are some young people carrying the obsessive torch of Japanese audiophilia. Seems many of them are older. Sorry to hear of his passing!

    From NY Public Radio archive

I want one! I once went to an estate of a guy who worked at a radio station in New York City. From the basement to the top floor of his 3 floor house, every room was packed with old radio equipment that they discarded as they upgraded over the years. There were so many transcription turntables...

    Beginning the RCA LC-1A adventure.

From what I gathered, the LC-1 are less likely to suffer from stiff surrounds, but I may be wrong about this. The LC-1A have the the dampening ring or what ever that is around the outside, so I thought I heard that these can get stiff and get perhaps cause stiff surrounds and loss of bass...
