Memorable for being great:
The Kinks-1982
Van Halen-1984

Alice in Chains- 1991

Stone Temple Pilots w/Cheap Trick - 1997

The Police - 2007 (Fenway Park)

The struggle is real. @jblnut nut and I joke that we use my 2000 +/- vinyl stash as a card catalog to browse titles, only to call them up on Qobuz and stream all but the most obscure albums in hi-rez instead.
Sorry if I'm being dense, but I'm not seeing a "for sale" folder or drop down any place, just the discogs listing of the 500+ jazz titles (nice collection). Am i missing something?
This is pretty wild stuff.
"To turn brain activity data into musical sound in the study, the researchers trained an artificial intelligence model to decipher data captured from thousands of electrodes that were attached to the participants as they listened to the Pink Floyd song while...
Phew, I thought it was just me. I moved that one around to different rigs and several iterations of them, and my reaction only ever ranged from "that sounds just ok" to "make it stop." I never did find the system synergy I was looking for from that unit.
Been doing blind taste test gatherings with a group of wine enthusiast friends for years, typically tasting a vertical of the same varietal at varying price points, generally between $8-$100. We've always been able to identify the least and most expensive wines by taste alone, but the ones that...

If I could only have you near
To breathe a sigh or two
I would...
I always thought it was just urban legend, but I recall hearing that NASA resorted to eBay to find replacements for obsolete parts for the space shuttle towards the end of program. Your comment makes me think that might have actually been true.
This is a great thread but I'm lazy and this stuff makes my eye twitch so I count on @jblnut to help out when he comes to my house. I will be sure to keep after him to improve his chops and share with the group. Isn't that what friends are for?
I’ve become a big fan of the Blue Note Tone Poet reissue series. The remastering is generally exceptional. I recently added these titles to the collection and while the Coltrane mono pressing is brilliant, Mobley’s Curtain Call seems to be cut a bit too hot, resulting in some high frequency...
This is pretty great. I saw Abdullah Ibrahim at a tiny club in Massachusetts (The Iron Horse) 20+ years ago and was blown away. And while I'm familiar with most of the other artists in this article, many of the tracks are new to me so thanks for sharing.
From a tasting we did at the house this weekend. The top 4 picks were Garrison Balmorhea, Hillrock Solera Aged, an Old Elk barrel pick and the Kentucky Spirits LTD. For those that like Garrisons (or Texas whiskey in general), the barely visible Lone Elm Single Barrel in this pic may rival...
