One of the first cars I drove was a 1973 Cougar. Two doors and as long as the block, and handled like a snail balancing a bowling ball. Cool car though, Smurf blue.

Yeah the Cougar & Mustang had gotten pretty Byzantine (not to mention Brobdingnagian*) by 1973.
I remember those bright colors -- more from Mopar (there were some pretty hideous Plymouth and Dodges in the very early 1960s) but I am more than willing to believe FoMoCo dipped their metaphorical toes in the same pool. :)

I love anything lime green. I think I saw a 2020? Civic in a very light lime green today. Not a fan of the newer Civic body style at all but the color more than made up for it. Thanks for sharing, cool cars.
 
I've never had a land yacht (or in local parlance, "pimpmobile"). I've had cars from the 70s - a VW Type III - but never anything big and made in the U.S. of A.
 
we had a white 1958 Caddy four-door hardtop when I was a kid. It was huge and it was a lemon.
 
I grew up with a '68, and then '72 Chrysler Newport. Before those we had a couple land dingys called Plymouth Fury, and a Ford Falcon wagon. I've owned a few land yachts myself, including a '70 Catalina convertible, '68 Plymouth GTX, and the yachtiest of all - 2 Chevy 4x4 Suburbans: a normal '78, and an '86 with 40" mudder tires and 11" lift.

Too many others to list here, but my favoritest was mine and my dad's '41 Packard 120S which we started restoration of, but sadly never completed.
 
Only thing I had close to a land yacht was my 1968 Olds Toronado. Not mine but mine was this color, mine had a brown interior.

Dad had a brand new 1974 Chevy Caprice Classic 2 door that I swear took two weeks to feel the bumps from railroad tracks. :)
 
This is probably off topic since it's from the eighties but I reckon if you think you can sleep well in the trunk, it must be a land yacht. Never had anything this large, before or since.

Mrs. H's father had one of those Toronados! I think his was a 66 or 67 (the very original model). Long before I knew her/him, though. 😐
 
Had a 1965 Chevy Impala 2 Door Hardtop like this one minus the cowl induction hood. Red with a black interior, 408 SBC, two speed powerglide, 4:11 rear gears which I dropped to 3:73's due to the PG (wanted to go to 3:55 but had to sell it before I got the chance).

This was the type of car that if I was behind someone at a stoplight, I had to let them take off for a few car lengths as I would be right back on their rear bumper in no time flat... :D
