2020 Audio Plans

I too have hit a pretty sweet spot, but the tweeker in me keeps wondering.
I do intend to finish my 2a3 pp amps , become a steamer with a pi , and build another phono pre (design to be determined).
And get side tracked with every shiney object coming along .

I think walking away from forums except for this, which is more of an audio-themed hangout, was the best thing to happen to my hobby. My system took on a much more personal direction that resulted in a contentment that I wasn't expecting.Less time in forums other than the Haven!
Decibel truly is a great place, I've dealt with them many times over the years, and as recently as this summer. It's because of them that I was able to acquire my Harbeths in trade. I've also discovered that a tech related to them, Stereo Rehab, Northside on Western, seems very competent.
going to move from DC suburbs back to Santa Fe in the spring. will have to downsize downsize. taking the 604s and the OBs but a lot up in the air otherwise.
need to get this house ready for sale, sell it, buy house, pack, move, unpack...
will be an adventure but looking forward to getting back to the desert.

Nice we drive up to Santa Fe once in a while such a beautiful place. I moved my Cornwalls here and that was challenging.

Addendum to my 2019 plan ...
I have about a thousand Open Reel tapes recorded between 2005 and 2016 from various sources . I would like to pare that down to my favourite 200 and sell the rest as generic tape. Considering I'll need to listen to all of them, this may take me into 2022!

I just discovered some remarkable, joyous news that make simplifies all the hoopla and eases the angst surrounding the VTA, or lack thereof, of my new (used) Rega RP3. All of the Rega cartridges have a height of roughly 14mm. What’s the big news?
The Denon DL-103 has a height of 15mm, top to tip, and it is, without a doubt, one of my most favorite cartridges ever.
Simplify, simplify is my new mantra for 2020. It seems to be working so far.
Now for the MC preamp, I knew there was an additional benefit of this forum, in addition to the wisdom and friendship of the folks here. I had the opportunity to listen to the Sch**t Mani when it was circulating and was damn impressed. Simplify, simplify and at $129 too. Have I mentioned I’m semi-retired and planning to be full-retired by the end of the year. I have heeded the advice of two well-respected gents hereabouts.
@S0und Dragon, “ I have taken a conscientious step back on the ladder. I am purposely not exceeding a certain level. Trying to teach myself to be content. I am trying to get to “good enough”.*
@JohnVF “Same. At least, I'm learning to just be content with what I have. I have stopped upgrading and feel no need to do better than what's here.”*
*Disclaimer-I have never been even close to these two gents in the gear world but have learned a lot from both.
Since my Harbeths acquisition, the supporting electronics have been “a step down” but my system overall sounds better than ever and I’m much more satisfied.

Well didn't make it till next year! Got the DAC today. 
Well, I did #3, and it's still 2019. Simple, just a set of Anti-Cables Level 3.1 "Reference" speaker cables. Not expensive, but so far a slight step up from my previous cables (which are nothing spectacular) in overall smoothness, for lack of a better descriptor. Nothing overt, just subtle, but distinct, and an improvement to my ears, I think.
And I've been doing #4 a little more, too, when I can.
This will involve more carpentry than electrical work. I kind of know how I want to do it, but I'm not 100% satisfied that it's the best solution, so I continue to ponder. (There's plenty of room in the panel, but the route to the listening room (from the basement to the third floor) is the big variable.) The end plan would be a run of 12/3 w/ground in conduit to the listening room, to provide 240v if needed (lol), but really to get both legs of the service up here with a shared neutral. Then figure out which leg is the quieter one and run the system from that one, with some possible swapping of any obviously noisy circuits to the other leg in the panel, too.
I've been eyeing an AudioQuest Niagara 3000 as a possible treatment device, but that's kind of expensive and a total waste without a proper ground, anyway. Right now this room is powered with ungrounded 1920s knob-and-tube wiring.
My 2020 audio plans are.
1. complete the “Prodigal Son” Technics SP-10 MkII.
2. Spruce up the listening space to make it more enjoyable aesthetically and sonically. Room treatments!
3. Demo and acquire a Phono stage with at least 2 inputs flexible enough for a wide range of Carts that also sounds good to me.
4. Rebuild my Digital streaming capability to better match the other sources.
5. Continue to explore Music and different artists. Get back to the music.
*** forgot to add repair broken and refurb my Vintage keepers***
1. repair my amazing Esoteric P2S transport
2. Refurbish the mint Kenwood KA-9100
3. Repair the Kenwood TX-7500
4. Repair the Technics SL-1600
5. Refurbish H.H Scott Tube Tuner and Multiplex
