We're in the midst of a garage build (I'm tired of parking my car outdoors). It'll be nice to have a space where my car isn't exposed to the elements, and where I can do some wrenching as needed.

Gonna hook up my Dynaco ST-35 and my Heresy X speakers up with a MoOde player so I can have tunage while I work, too.

So how’d the inspection go?
On my end our foundation should be poured this week.

Our inspection was a major failure and was not worth the $$$ to commit to the house.

We ended up going with building our own with a builder. I get a dedicated music/media room, so it is all good!

I am thinking of starting a thread for my new find. Went to go pick up some 612C cabs, without knowing exactly what was in the cabs. Most 612C's I have came across in person or online usually have 604-8G's. Well, they were no 604-8G's loaded in the cabs, but obscure/rare Altec 616-8A's. I am now in the process of figuring out how I am going to modify the XO to extend it's 12khz limit, which has been confirmed to be the XO's engineering.

The 616-8A is pretty interesting, giving that it was design by Bart Locanthi. It is built on a 411 frame, with a LE-15 vc/cone, with an 806-8A hf driver.

I am going to refurb the solid plywood cabs and run with them until after I move. I will be tinkering with the XO for a while it seems.

That’s awesome, glad it all worked out in the end. The speakers sound very interesting!
I’ll be driving by our property end of week to hopefully see sticks up.

That is exiting.
I have built two homes in the past and both times had my music room, so I hope you will enjoy.
Do you have plans to give the room its own power leg for the electrical outlets only from the main fuse panel ?

Most definitely, I believe I added one dedicated circuit if not two (chatted with @marantzfan on it that day). In my third garage (which will be my shop), I added a 50Amp source for a commercial grade saw or CNC?

it is funny that you mention that... I have been reading/researching on what direction I should go and what to ask during my build. But I am definitely going to run dedicated power to my system.

Sooo, took long enough but finally pulled the trigger on feet for the cabinets. I actually went back to an option I had ruled out (they look whey better in person than the online pic). These will go on this weekend:

I have a set almost exactly like that which will be put on my 614 utility cabinets (for the 808-8b/32c/414-z two-ways) at some point.
