A town so nice....

Speaking of Shindo - stumbled across this ad tonight. In general the best I can do with Shindo is spell it. I suspect the price might be optimistic, but what do I know ? :)

Nice example of the "green" in any case.

$21,000 is not enough for you? I have no clue what real Western Electric 300B's go for. I read that he (Ken Shindo) once found a warehouse with a good stash of Western Electric tubes. He took a second mortgage on his house so that he could buy all of it.

When I said "optimistic" I meant that it might be a lot to ask, but I really don't know what these go for. That list is about $27K CAD. Lovely amps though.

Welcome to HFH!

I was just listening to my TD124 last night with a friend's RMG309i. 👍😊

And I'm going to put an Alfred Bokrand arm on it. Your write up was the final straw. Maybe a 10" so I can keep it neat and tidy fo now. Unless you want to talk me into a 12"

To my ears, there's sonic gain by going to a full-size 12" (295mm-309mm spindle>pivot). My Grace G565 and AT1501 (270mm s>p) have fine bearings but don't quite have the depth of the AB309/RMG309/309i or even the SME3012-II.

The RMG309i pictured belongs to an audio buddy. I couldn't resist trying it on my TD124.:) It's slightly better than my original, maybe because the bearings have less slack or they just build them better now.

Hey, I have a new version of the Monbrison paired with a 6V6 Montille. All shindo ICs and A23 speaker cables. I use a Garrard 301 with an EMT TSD 15 cart into the A23 Hommage T2 SUT. My speakers are altec 604e with a werner jagusch crossover. I am super happy with this combination.
Prove it!...my way of saying where are the pics.

Sounds sweet...hope you don't mind me raking you with questions...

For sure. I will see what I can do!
Awesome! Not sure if you’ve done your own intro thread but I’ll be pelating you with questions I’ve embarked on a journey which may take me where you are now (have the 604E part down).
On topic; @Shindogreen , you really do owe us more pics than that first teaser you posted.

Fair enough...forgive the quality. The Mullards in the Montille are fakes...according to the codes they are EI's from Yugoslavia. They still sound great but real Mullards are on the shopping list. The preamp is waiting on some new line stage tubes...German Post won't deliver to the US now so its a little problematic getting them right now. The table was built by my friend Terry Cain. I swear he barely measured.

Seeing that quality inside that pre, I’m definitely buying Shindo!
Beautiful setup and room, very aesthetically pleasing.

Beautiful system!

Its not just the quietest tube gear I've ever owned, its the quietist ever. These replaced battery powered chip amps and pre. And the Shindo is quieter. No idea how they do it.
You sir win the day. That looks awesome..all of it. Whats the other amp?

Welcome Shindogreen. I was just over there in the Tri-Cities yesterday and Tuesday (from Boise). Almost played Wine Valley but ended up visiting Pete Riggle instead. Be sure to look him up.

I am on the hunt for an el84 amp myself. I have heard great things about the Montille and one of the best bang for bucks (oxymoron alert) in the Shindo line up.

El84's are so fun. The mid-range and mid-bass just jumps... at least on the ones I've heard.

BTW... I have the perfect arm for your new 124. Warning: Shameless plug for a 9" arm for sale.
