Visiting Revolutionary War sight in Camden South Carolina today my wife found information on two of her ancestors.
James Wilson's signature was on the Declaration of Independence.
Issac Shelby was the first Governor of Kentucky was a Colonel in the Colonial army.

NY and SC in day. You must be driving fast :).
I know New Paltz quite well since I used to live in that part of the world. The Hudson river valley is beautiful and definitely worth a trip.

LOL
Still in SC 🙂
My niece found the house in Paltz last year and sent those to me.
Another cool thing on my wife's side is a ring she has that Issac Shelby gave to his wife and it has been passed to the first daughter through several generations. It will go to her daughter at some point.

Where exactly do they paste it?

That's very interesting, MrEd!
I agree and we have learned a lot about our ancestors.
Lucy's mother was Wilson and was sort of disowned after marriage to her father a poor British immigrant.
Simalar story on the Bevier side.
My mother's father was also shunned by a fairly wealthy family because of what we think is my mother being born out of wedlock. Her birth and her mother's information are some what vague, along with some oddities on her birth certificate.
