Just wondering if anyone has ever heard or even remembers the Alexander SE2 speakers made in England in the late 80s or early 90s. I was trying to find some information online about them as I clearly remember being very impressed by them in a stereo shop at the end of the 80s hooked up to an 80s Harman Kardon integrated. They are tiny speakers with metal cabinets and SEAS drivers. The only article I could find online about them is this:

Alexander SE2 Loudspeakers

Have always hoped to find a pair and never have. Just wondering if anyone in the UK may see them for sale locally. Have never seen a pair for sale in Canada since I have been looking online.

Not familiar with them.

Do yo know if they were ever distributed in the USA?

Don't know about the US but the shop I heard them in was in Toronto so would assume they had Canadian distribution. It is a fairly vague memory from 30ish years ago but I remember leaving the shop very impressed. One of only a few times in my life that gear really impressed me in an audio store. Probably as much a statement regarding my inexperience with high end audio at the time as with the speakers being as good as I remember but I would still like to find a pair some day.

That's one I can't say I've heard. And I visited near enough every audio store in Toronto back then.

What store was it?

Can't even remember that for sure. North end of Toronto around the Leslie and 401 area if I recall.

I did find a few references to two other speakers from this manufacturer, the SE5 and the SE11. Looks like there are some reviews in British audio magazines in 1989 and 1990.

Found a copy of What Hifi from Nov 1989 with a review of the SE2 for sale for a few Euros in Finland. Was about to buy it but the shipping was 30 euros on a 4 euro magazine so had to decline. It also looks like Hifi Choice has reviews of the SE5 and SE11 in 1990. My copies of Hifi Choice start a couple of years later and there are still some references in the recommended components section going into 1992 but they seem to stop in 1993. Perhaps they were out of business around that time.
