Do It Yourself
I live pretty close to there (Lake Geneva). You should stop by and check out the listening room.

I'm just a few miles North of Kettle Moraine South. A missed opportunity.

I'd like to make it up to see both of ya's sooner or later. This year has been WILD for our family -- got another baby in Pre-K this week, daddy is finally done hauling 5/8" sheets and buckets of self-leveling compound.

Tom, I will say I was very impressed with the John Muir system. I will definitely be spending more time on that trail.

They're currently in 620's. And I still have a pair of eminence 12" sub woofers. Need a class D amp :)
Class D pro amps are cheap. I use a Behrenger A800 and it works well on my two satellite subs I just searched for one without fans.
I had a Crown with fans hat bugged me.
I use a Dayton mono amp on the main sub (not as cheap 🤣)

Heard that

I'd really like to get into some Hypex modules, "buy once cry once" sorta. Keep something sorted for subs. More like buying a reliable tool than a collectable watch.

I've used and kept crown amps too: yes the fans are annoying but generally I think the amps sound pretty good 😬

I believe you're correct. I'm not aware of Mr, Hiraga making any comments about the 511/811 either, but I seem to remember him remarking on cabinet resonances. I don't have a link on hand so I may be wrong.

Art discusses 811 resonances in Listening #125 HERE (je, I'm sure you're already aware)

Do you have any philosophy on horn and/or cabinet resonance?
Hello, just read your post, May be not an actual subject for you. But for all who still have the question. I just want to tell you that in the french site Melaudia, all the friend of mr Hiraga are there. And they are verry coborative. Therefore if you want info, you should react with them, because the closest one, mr Brunop (Who, long time ago, bought the personnal A7-500 of mr Hiraga, and they both continue to ameliorate it, in his own house) is allready RIP. and they all not becoming younger. Problem this site is French, as mr Hiraga, so you will need to become a member and find a solution (Google translator could become your friend, who know.). I made a kind of replica of mr BrunoP A7-500 (511) that he bought from Mr Hiraga (Pretty close, as If I didn t ask for a precise question, he will not give me any clew, as mr Hiraga made a statement long time ago I think, that he don t want his knowledge and his Japanese friends one, be distribute free on the WEB. Really easy to understand). Don t know who got it now, but with their reputation, those A7 were not distroyed, be sure about that. For my part don t ask, as a member of Melaudia, I will not say anything that I don t discover by myself on the web (not signifiant, anyway).
