Built in, room LF system? Plotting and scheming...

My experience is very similar as well. DSP for LF is great, but I have a hard time enjoying it anywhere else, typically.

DSP for your LF solution can help you dial it in very very well, an extremely valuable tool IMO.

But the same tone, speed and Altec immediacy as the mains makes the (very difficult) task of seamlessly blending just a little easier.

This is where my concern lies. This is why I think the 421's might be a good solution. I really like the idea of keeping this rig all Altec. Or at least Lansing DNA... not saying that my JBL 2441's couldn't find their way into this rig.

The room would have at least a couple tiers for seating. So I would want to center the HF sections on the median height of the listeners. That's why the platform comes into play. Seems logical to me to use the platform as the enclosure for the bass system.

The room will be treated with passive bass traps in the needed locations as well as first reflections etc... might even be able to slope the ceiling up away from the rig if that will help.
