Cabinet care..

What the recommended method for cabinet care (heron2 in my case)?

I dont have grills and I don't want to spray furniture polish all over the drivers, so wax maybe or perhaps oil?

What’s the finish on your cabinets?
I use Howard’s feed n wax for my speaker cabinets and most of my woodwork (mainly those with a lacquer clear coat).

I’m considering the same thing for some nicely veneered cabinets as well. I asked a local cabinet maker and he recommended beeswax. I’m not sure of a specific brand but I did watch him use some to repair some minor scratches on a nice pair of speakers. These were scuffs more than anything but they looked flawless afterwards. I asked specifically what he thought would be the best product to care for high quality wood furniture and again beeswax was the recommendation. I’m going to stop by there next week and see if he sells a beeswax based product. While I appreciate a clean home I’m not over the top when it comes to dusting, but with some new speakers I’ve recently acquired I’m motivated to make an effort. I’ll let you know what I figure out

I should add that I’m unsure how these are finished. The veneer is very nice but I really can’t see any kind of clear coat.
These are Meadowlark Blackbirds so maybe Pat will chime in

Hi Chris,
I meant to reply about a month ago but time slips away.

I never used any polish of any sort on the Blackbirds but ... I have a pair of Jim Salk’s Songbirds (below) in our dining room and Jim, who knows a thing or two about beautifully veneered speakers, told me not to use wax and to just use Mequiars Quick Detailer. I did and he was, of course, right. It does the job nicely.

If you’re still planning to use wax, I’d start with a test spot on the bottom of one Blackbird and see if it’s to your liking.

Cheers,
KP

No worries,
I haven’t used anything on the Blackbirds as yet. Beeswax does seem quite heavy though so perhaps I’ll give the detailer a try.
I appreciate the suggestion
Best,
Jcris
