Canadian Culture - The Canadian Music Thread

I suppose we can't leave out Shania - she was the IT country star for quite some time

Yeah, I've been trying to leave out the people who have actually made it big in the US and the rest of the world. My picks have been more about bands that are big in Canada, but never really broke through elsewhere. Isn't it ironic, that our best music is often the stuff that is only known at home.

Ahem:

Or, more true to the spirit of what I've been posting, Canadian dance music and teenie bopper singing star, Alanis.

Chantal is Canadian and is big here in Hong Kong on the hi-fi circuit with superior recordings.

Never heard her played in any room at an audio show in the west.

And speaking of getting screwed by record companies, the Skydiggers had just broken through to stardom, when it was all derailed by the shysters at their record company.

Just stumbled upon this video. I was at this concert! Fantastic show.

I think I'll just take this opportunity to drop my favorite Guess Who song here... just... you know... because I can.
It would be ironic* if I accidentally chose a YT video that's not available in Canada, wouldn't it? :o
I am really not trying to do so (really!), so I hope that's not the case!

* Ironic. Alanis Morissette. Canadian. Coincidence? I think not. :smoke

How about some obscure proggy goodness from FM:

There's some live performances on YouTube, but the SQ is pretty bad from what I've tried.
