Cars & Motorcycles

This looks very interesting. Going to watch it before we cancel Netflix.
John Delorean and his rise and fall dominated our local Detroit area news back in the 70s for weeks if not months. I'm always curious when it comes to major news about Detroit automakers how that plays in other regions in the U.S. Did this story cause more than a blip in the news cycle on the coasts?

I used to work on those back in the day

Very unimpressed, I pretty much put them in the pos category after the first drive of one

Katrina and I stopped a few places on the Lake Erie side today, including a winery. This bucket 'o bolts was in a parking lot along the way.

The original stainless exhaust system on my 2005 Subaru legacy GT wagon is finally in the final death throws so I went hunting for replacement. It made it 16 years and 350,000 km so no complaints! The stock exhaust system goes for $10k, so we're not doing that! In my research I found a great shop that does all sorts of custom Subaru work, is reasonable and really into the cars. So we're going with a single high-flow cat to replace the original three small ones (and can ditch the second sensor in the process), free-flow resonator (debated whether to leave that out, but a crap shoot I could lose) and a pair of Magnaflow mufflers, all stainless. Should sound sweet, slight performance improvement and 25% of the cost, all in. Then on to giving the body some attention and a nice repaint. I always liked metal-flake black, but changing colours gets pricey.

While it was up on the hoist getting looked at I wandered down the street with my camera and too a few shots at a shop that always has some nice cars about. Back in the 80s when I had my '68 Alfa Spider they used to service it sometimes. Nice guys. The current owner is the son of the guy who founded the shop.

I haven't seen a running X19 in years.
Fiat bailed on the US market in 1982. Later years production of the X19 were manufactured and sold under the Bertone nameplate. The erratic distribution must have caused some problems with the spare parts supply which could explain the rarity of running X19s. I owned a Fiat Brava then and sold it before the spare parts supply became too much of a problem.

I had a friend who owed a X-19. He was 6'5" and watching him get in and out was like watching someone make origami. Another friend had a Brava and it was a really nice car to drive as I recall.

Remind me if getting in and out of my Lotus Europa 😊
