Really looking forward to, finally, getting a nice, clean copy of Search for the New Land!!!!!

Probably, like most here, I have most of these titles on CD/Vinyl. But I have several LP's that are in need of an upgraded copy. A couple of the titles:
Horace Silver – Blowin’ The Blues Away
Sonny Rollins – Newk’s Time
Bud Powell – Amazing Bud Powell, Vol. 1
I don't have and will be grabbing as soon as they come out. Some I have on really good Japanese pressings and will have to decide if I need a second copy.

All in all, a good selection. Very similar to the "spread" from the last batch. Keep 'em coming Blue Note!

I'd like to see Silver's Serenade reissued at some point, as well as Cape Verdean Blues (which had a reissue but I think it was digitally sourced...and mine is way off-center on side one).

Am I missing something? I’d REALLY love to replace my scratchy copies of Bobby Hutcherson: Oblique, Dialog, Happenings, Head On, Cirrus, Stick Up. But I only see his record with Harold Land.

Oblique and Stick-Up were reissued in the Tone Poet series.

Happy to see another good allocation from the 1500 series. I’m in the same boat on replacing (or complimenting) some good Japanese pressings. Love that this series keeps prices down.
I agree. The packaging (the jacket and sleeve) are just enough--I don't need the heavy Stoughton tip-on jackets for eye candy. The record inside is what counts. As long as they're well-mastered and cleanly pressed, I'm good.

Don’t get me wrong, I would like a better jacket on the Classic series. But I don’t need a gatefold or any extra “goodies”. The sweet spot for me is the Analogue Productions Prestige series. On the pricier side but a quality pressing in a thick cardboard single jacket (that fits perfectly in the VSS sleeves). Worth almost double? Maybe not, but an excellent package.

Oh yes, agreed there! I bought two of the Art Pepper titles and the packaging is every bit as good as the Verve Acoustic Sounds series (which I've been pleased with). Sure, the Classic Vinyl reissue jackets are a bit flimsy but ultimately, they spend their life on my shelf most of the time so they don't really bother me. At least they are not as bad as some of the European pressings I've bought over the years--they are one step past being a paper sleeve.

At least for Horace Silver titles, the choice of titles for Classic Vinyl vs. Tone Poet seems to be arbitrary. Further Explorations is in the Tone Poet series but all the others (Song for my Father, Doin' the Thing, 6 Pieces of Silver, the upcoming Blowin' The Blues Away) are Classic.

Just remember, any title that got the Music Matters treatment, with the exception of Blue Train, won't get a Tone Poet release.

I saw I had Blowin' The Blues Away already and naturally got a bit confused to see it being released last month. But looking at it now, it seems I have the 2015 release. (The 75th anniversary series.) It's not a Horace Silver record I play often so I don't see a reason to get the Classic Vinyl version. But I would suspect the 2015 was digitally sourced...? It shows Bernie Grundman mastering it, yet also showed it was mastered at Capitol. Who knows? 🤷‍♂️

Yes, the 75th series was digitally sourced. The biggest issue that I had with them was the atrocious pressing quality.

Mine, surprisingly, is a fairly good pressing. I have a couple of Classics and a Tone Poet that are abysmally bad pressings, on the other hand...

Strangely enough, I am having more issues with the Tone Poet pressings now than the Classics. Of course, anything from Acoustic Sounds is usually pristine.
