This is nice just the stillness. These were done between the late 1890 - 1901, all the girls are long since gone, a shame.

This is nice just the stillness.

Now that I’m retired, working part time, I have the flexibility to schedule some photo time. I just have to actually DO IT! Great pics.

Yes, just do it! Shoot lots and ponder what you do and don't like in the results and why.

Great advice @fiddlefye and I did just that this week. Woke up, grabbed by Nikon D90 and tripod with zoom (Nikor AF 70-300), not a terribly expensive lens but something I bought to play around with. The contrast is not very good by the nature of the sculpture and its surroundings and the morning light. But it's a start! Thanks for the push. Mustangs Darkroom 1.jpg Mustangs Darkroom 2.jpg
Mustangs at Las Colinas is a bronze sculpture by Robert Glen, that decorates Williams Square in Las Colinas in Irving, Texas.

The sculpture commemorates the wild mustangs that were historically important inhabitants of much of Texas. It portrays a group at 1.5 times life size,[1] running through a watercourse, with fountains giving the effect of water splashed by the animals' hooves. The horses are intended to represent the drive, initiative and unfettered lifestyle that were fundamental to the state in its pioneer days.

The work was commissioned in 1976 and installed in 1984. SWA Group's design created a shallow watercourse extending 400 feet (130 m) from northeast to southwest across Williams Square, a gently sloping granite-paved open space about 300 feet (110 m) square. The plaza setting for the sculpture won a National Honor Award from the American Society of Landscape Architects.[2]
