Daft Punk borrowing Duran Duran groove?

That's a tough one. They both owe Georgio Moroder a drink after that (and Daft Punk is quite open about their affection, going so far as to have him produce some of their stuff, if I remember correctly).

Also, that's Nile Rodgers on the Daft Punk tune, so it could be a case of Duran Duran ripping off Nile Rodgers in Chic, to then have Nile Rodgers turn around and rip off the rip off... ;)

Learn something new every day, great stuff!

Georgio Moroder

Havent listened to Random Access Memories in a long time, but if (my random access) memory serves, they do mention Georgio a time or two. Very fascinating, I was clueless lol.
My wife is a big fan of Moroder. We've seen him DJ a large festival crowd, charming old fella. Very fun, very Italian. We've also been to a club he runs in LA called, well, appropriately "Disco". Nice low key kind of speakeasy place that you have to walk through a kitchen to get to, just full of fun people of all ages who like that kind of thing (including Daft Punk).

As an aside, Prime Minister and I listened to Daft Punk rather loudly at the Shinola store here in Detroit, played on a Shinola Turntable with their powered speakers. That was one of the best and most fun in-store auditions I've ever had. It wasn't necessarily hi-fi but it was brilliantly fun.

I may have already posted this. Im pretty sure I saw this the first time it was played live - 5-25-96 Laguna Sega Daze.

Then Nicki Minaj ripped it off lol.
