SilverHeart headshell for Denon DL-103 cartridge, weighs 18 grams and overhang is set at 52mm. Cart just plugs in. Cost is about 300 bucks IF you can get one. Looks like all orders are spoken for and they won't be taking orders till the fall. It's designed to plug and play on the SPU tonearm or arms with adjustable bases.
Do I need one? NO! Do I want one? VERY BADLY! That is over the top gorgeous.

Looks pretty cool
I would be wondering how you make cartridge alignment adjustments ?

You don’t. The overhang is set to work with arms that use the SPU integrated cart/shell which is fixed at the same distance.. but you could use it with an SME style sliding base.

And yeah, this makes me want a DL-103 again.

If I had purchased my Schick arm to be SPU compatible it would work, but I did not and as cool as this looks I would most likely not purchase any way.

I might have kept all my 103 variants had this been in the stable. Another thing that I don’t want, don’t need, but gotta have!

Could you imagine if they put that much attention into say a tonearm or table?
That headshell is a very small production item, mostly made by hand I'm sure. The aluminum part is CNC milled, mated to the wood and than carefully shaped, polished and finished by a craftsman.
I still want one........

I want one and I want it now😡 Would go very nicely with my SPU#1S and my Zu DL-103 II/Fidelity Research combo on my 'built 301

Oh well, I suppose that I must wait just like everybody else.

Are they planning another production run?

Is anyone aware of how to get on a waiting list of some kind? I have a decent amount of patience, especially if a reasonably accurate estimate of a due date is provided.

I've been checking (on a weekly basis) to see when the promised retooling and manufacturing of this headshell would come to fruition. Imagine my pleasant surprise when the new version (obviously in a black finish as opposed to red) showed up on Ontomo's website!

I sent them an e-mail to enquire as to when and how I could order one.

Imagine my chagrin when I received a return e-mail informing me that the company does not ship internationally :(

I wonder if this headshell will ever be available to us "barbarians". A trip to Japan just isn't in the cards for me in the foreseeable future and I don't know anyone who is contemplating one.

What's the price of unobtanium these days?

That's so odd (and frustrating) that they don't ship internationally. My wife bought a camera from Japan on Wednesday and it showed up this morning in Illinois, exactly 48 hours later. I would love one of these as well!

What a low down dirty shame. My recent foray into Japanese domestic gear is leading me to a belief that the better gear and production is truly reserved for the domestic market. I had no idea that this extended to local boutique products as well. Sad as I would have gladly purchased one also.

I remember trying to bid on an EPA-100MK2 armboard on Yahoo; the seller was cancelling all international bids as they came in right up to the bitter end.
