Sold EAR 834P Clone - TRLH Mods - $750 + Shipping

Up for sale is a phono stage that I built a couple of years ago in what ended up being a long and painstaking process. This one was a bit trickier that the stock EAR 834P clone build in that there are a number of mods to the original circuit to improve its performance.

• Mundorf EVO Oil capacitors used in critical spots.
• Tubes are Northern Electric 12AX7, which were recommended by multiple owners of this phono stage.
• Signal wiring is Belden 8402 shielded

I followed this build guide to the letter using the Xuling boards.

I simply have too many excellent phono stages (well, gear in general) and need to start culling the herd. This one got relatively light usage, I would estimate no more than 100-150 hours of use total. Tubes should be like new.

That is a very well executed, with great components, example of the TLRH EAR 834!

Damn good deal too, components and case alone are worth more than the asking price.

Speaking of, which case is that? I can tell its one of the DIYAudio cases, but hard to discern which one.

Thanks for the kind words. The chassis is the Pesante 3U. Plenty of space inside to keep things cool and quiet.

Yep, by the time one adds up all the individual capacitors, transformer and choke, (especially quality components) the time/labor is essentially free

Do you know what amount of gain this has ? The original was something like 48 or 50 db wasn't it ?

The gain should be the same as the original build…I’ll have to look that up. The primary difference is in tighter tolerances on the RIAA ceramic caps.
