Not sure I've mentioned this here, but our son (the mathematician) has, the past year, married his long-time girlfriend, bought a house, and morphed into a DIY woodworker with a vengeance. He's good at it, too (the woodworking, that is). He seems to watch quite a few woodworking videos. Overnight, he sent me a link to a video and asked if he was seeing a vacuum tube amplifier in the background. He sure does seem to be -- the problem is: I don't recognize it?!
Here's the whole video:
So, hat in hand, I am making one of those posts: can any of you ID the amplifier? Looks like a PP EL34 (or maybe KTxx) amplifier. I am thinking vintage, as opposed to new, and Japanese (but I'm not certainly not certain, in either case). Kind of reminds me of 1960s Japanese tube amps (with which I am not terribly familiar). It looks too small -- and maybe even too bland -- to be a Luxman, but I know Matsushita (e.g.) had some amps sort of like this one (?). Similarly, it's ever so vaguely reminiscent of a Dynaco ST-70, but it's not an ST-70.
Any thoughts or insight are, as always greatly appreciated & gratefully received.
Thanks!
