Help with Schiit EITR USB to SPDIF Converter

I just bought a Schiit EITR USB to SPDIF Converter. I wanted to improve the sound from my CPU's USB to my stereo. I have two DAC's; A Chord Chordette QuteHD and a SimAudio D100. I can't get either to work with this device. I followed the troubleshooting procedures on the Schiit site and still nothing. I have no problem using the Simaudio dac straight to CP by virtue of USB and I have the Chord hooked up to a CDP with a coax cable and get great sound. I tried contacting Schiit but you can't speak with a human so I had to send my issue by email. Anybody have any ideas?

What is your CPU? On my Apple Products, I believe I had to select the SPDIF converter in Audio MIDI to get it to work.

Are you able to select the SE as the audio output device ?
Yes, it shows up. I am going to go buy a powered USB hub as suggested by Schiit and try that.

I use a Cyberpower PC. It's a pretty good CPU, primarily set up for gaming (I play World of Tanks sometimes) but also just a generally good computer.

Problem solved. I never would have imagined that a $20 Powered USB hub would solve this, but it did. The EITR with my Chord Chordette QuteHD DAC sounds fabulous together using .flac files from my CPU.

I had a Chord Chordette Qute EX that I loved the sound of but I could not deal with some issues it had. The main one being that Chord stopped supplying firmware updates to get it to work via USB with the latest Apple OS. I sold it, and like a month later Sonore figured out how to get the microRendu to work with it.

Especially liked its presentation of DSD files ripped from SACDs.

Glad you got your issue resolved.

I used to use it with a Squeezebox Touch and a 2TB external hard drive. It worked well but I wanted to simplify so I tried this. My Chord has never worked with USB...;-)
