Hey Phil.
Welcome to the Haven. I certainly hope that you linger and make yourself at home.
Don't forget to post more about your system. Pictures are always appreciated too!
Thank you, PM!
I have a 200 x 100 x 60cm piece of custom solid-wood cabinet being made up to hide most of my gear, and win some WAF points! I'll wait until that's completed and installed before I upload photos.
My system is constantly evolving (like everyone's). PS Audio P20 powers up virtually everything, and is on a dedicated mains circuit. Main source is Roon Nucleus+ (running TIDAL & ripped discs). Sbooster power to the Nucleus. Sonic Art Reference Blue Lightning USB (awesome) from Nucleus to a Matrix Audio X-SPDIF, then WireWorld Silver Sphere HDMI running I2S signal to a PS Audio DirectStream DAC (until my Revelation Audio Prophecy Cryosilver Reference HDMI cable eventually arrives, if it does). Uptone LPS to the Matrix until my Farad Super 3 arrives! The ethernet cable goes into an etherREGEN, which is powered by an AfterDark LPS, and AfterDark Cat8 cable from the etherREGEN to my Roon Nucleus+. Other source is an old Vincent CDS-6 CD player, with COAX to the DirectStream. I also have an Oppo BDP-95 for movies, and a
very outdated Denon AVR-1907 for surround sound (Focal in-ceiling rears, SuperNova sub). The Marantz UD7007 is a new addition, purely for SACD ripping :-) I use an Optoma projector for movies - there is a motorised screen which appears from the ceiling when called upon, dropping down in front of an oil painting.
I have a PS Audio BHK Pre-amp going to PS Audio BHK300 mono-blocs via Sonic Art Silver Reference XLRs, and bi-wired Sonic Art + Analysis Plus Oval 12 speaker cables to my Amphion Krypton 3 speakers. All power cables are Sonic Art Evolution Mains with Furutech plugs.
My gear is in our open-plan living-dining-kitchen room which is very spacious.
I would say that really big changes to the sound quality came with moving Roon from an iMac to the Roon Nucleus+, adding the Matrix Audio X-SPDIF 2, and especially going from the already very-good Matrix Audio USB to the Sonic Art Reference Blue Lightning USB. That USB cable blew me away. The LPS power sources are all really important. I've read others' feedback on the synergy between the Farad Super3 LPS and the Matrix Audio X-SPDIF 2, that I ordered a Farad - but shipping from the EU to AU takes an eternity these days. My entire family has commented on the difference the above additions have made.
Cheers,
Phil
