How to play a Boy George record...

I really liked the movie "The Crying Game" but not familiar with BG's cover of the soundtrack.

He did a cover of the original (I think 1960s) song, The Crying Game, and both are in the movie. Boy George's version was maybe over the credits? It's been years since I've seen it, but its such a good film even knowing the 'surprise' which... I mean, how was anybody surprised? Boy George's song has an Angelo Badalamenti/Twin Peaks quality to it, and a sort of inherent sadness to it that I think might be a bit autobiographical. He was going through a rough spot at the time.

Ok, I admit it, I kinda like Boy George. Dude's being so out and proud in the early '80s was more punk rock than what punk rock was by that time.

Dude’s got a helluva voice. The CC songs aren’t garbage. I have no interest in playing the albums as the music doesn’t particularly interest or register with me, but I won’t flip the dial if it comes on, and recognize the talent.

You guys are making me feel bad for purging all those (ahem) Christmas lps that were my mom and dad's 8 or 9 years ago...of very similar progeny.

I kept a few for purely nostalgic purposes. I bring them out every Christmas along with my CDs, and use them as decoration.

How about an original 1957 Capital Records High Fidelity recording of "now is the Caroling Season" by Fred Waring and the Pennsylvanians? Betcha gonna want to hear that now too.

Well I do like The Bee Gees more than I like The Beatles. By a not insignificant amount (and am listening to Trafalgar as I type). If I can admit that… I’ll let my wife still take the fall for Boy George.
