this is more like that little gap under the doorway that keeps the door from dragging on the carpet.

PE had (has) these on clearance for $5.99 a pop.
Sans P/S -- which doesn't seem like a bad thing for 'equipment' like this!

I was orderin' some stuff from PE yesterday anyway.
I figured the odds were 1 in 2 of getting one that worked properly out of the box, so I was gonna order two.
When I actually added them to my cart, I figured 'what the heck?' and set the quantity to three.

Some antics are better than other antics. I, for one, would like to see this experiment unfold.

The plot thickens..... 😎

Found a conversation discussing this amp in general and evidently there are different versions (I'm shocked.....SHOCKED that this situation exists ;)).

I ordered the version (supposedly the original chipset) from Amazon and will grab one from P/E to compare.

Amazon version - Kinter K2020A+ Limited Edition Original Tripath TA2020-020 Class-T Hi-Fi Audio Mini Amplifier with 12V 5A Power Supply Black: Kinter K2020A+ Limited Edition Original Tripath TA2020-020 Class-T Hi-Fi Audio Mini Amplifier with 12V 5A Power Supply Black:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077Z7DBRT/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_vtGuCbTH2GQTB

One difference I see is that the Kinter version has a switch to bypass the tone controls.

More to follow. 😎

I think my Lepai has a tone defeat switch. It definitely sounds better with tone controls defeated, IMO.

I agree. The tone controls kill it. I've had a Lepai running 24/7 for years in the garage.

The Lepai is a different beast -- I've had one of those for a long time :)
It's a great bench/test amplifier, IMO.

Got the Pyramid PS9KX 13.8v DC regulated power supply.

Got bananas on the PS side of the power pigtail (no soldering, of course ;)).

Been listening to the reference Living Room system all morning with my tea. Taking my Bride to brunch and will swap in the Kinter K2020A/Pyramid PS9KX in place of the KingKo KA-101 when we get home. :)

Should be fun. :)
