I succumbed to the siren call of a blue meter...

Yes, Pass Labs XA-30.5, about 45wpc of pure Class-A (plus 6dB of “headroom”), dual-mono, fully-balanced, low-feedback, blah blah etc.

With the new Harbeths some months ago, I determined that the amplifier was probably the next sensible upgrade. (I still haven't solved the "better electricity" vow I made earlier this year, but perhaps that's finally next.) There were a few other amplifiers that came up on the radar recently (including one with those blue meters), but this one seemed like it might be the best fit for the system, so I took a leap of faith. (I've heard these numerous times at shows, but that's a stunted perception at best.)

And with this (assuming it actually is a good fit), I now need to "cool it a bit" on the system. However, I think it'll be a good place to stop and smell the roses for a while.

Nice piece of gear, I think thats the smartest way to do SS these days.
Nelson Pass is a smart cookie, and also supports the diy continuity, and has top notch products.
I hope you get a lot of joy from it.

45wpc Class-A with Harbeths! That's something I'd like to hear! Bet it's sweet.
