InnuOS 2.0

I'm not sure how many use Innuos here or have any interest in it, but I do want to give them some credit for a wonderful new app. I became a dealer several months ago and frankly told the importer that I would not be able to sell any until my confidence went up. I knew 2.0 was around the corner and I was willing to wait to see what it delivered before walking away. He understood completely so we just played the waiting game. As of a month or two ago, it finally released, and what a MASSIVE improvement it was!

Prior to 2.0, you had to use squeezebox to run the devices and then use a secondary app on your device to control it. It was tedious and aggravating as I consistently had issues getting them to work properly. InnuOS 2.0 now has an app to run with it and its experience is now world-class. Local files are finally sounding as good as streamed files so I have spent the last several weeks ripping about 800 CD's to the hard drive.

Sound quality in general has stepped up massively - every bit as much as the user experience. While Innuos has always been Roon capable, the sound was always subpar and a far cry from other avenues. The dual-program option I mentioned in the last paragraph gave good results, but I was not expecting the huge jump in sound quality - notably the much lower noise floor. You can hear so much more of the music than before and the results are much more involving and realistic presentation.

So here is your credit Innuos. You guys deserve it.

There are some good screenshots here. The only complaint I have right now is that Tidal is not natively integrated, but that is in the near future. My iPad Mini 2 could run it but the app was a little slow in response. I purchased an iPad Pro a few weeks ago and the response time is incredibly fast.

I recently bought an Innuos ZEN Mini MKIII with the linear power supply. Haven't had a chance to hook it up yet (we moved last year and still doing lists for SHMBO).

I use Tidal and Amazon Music, I bought the the ZEN with the understanding that AM was not really supported through the old way but was promised to be supported under the new app.

Do you find that to be the case?

I just checked and I don't see AM integrated yet, but that doesn't mean it won't be. They rolled it out as a fully functional and impressive build, but there are still milestones to reach as they add in more features. Tidal itself is still not native yet, but you can use it fully. I know this is another feature they plan to implement.

How about Qobuz, is it supported natively? Thanks, and I've heard on some of the other Fora that people are very pleased with the new software.
