It Has Arrived!

For what it's worth, my dealer tested the speed on it. Dead nuts accurate, and solid as a rock. No wavering or hunting.

Two belts in one groove of the motor pulley ?

And yes, what about the fang ? Ania ? Apheta 2 ?

That is definitely not your daddy’s Rega. No MDF anywhere on this one; is that cast aluminum for the “plinth”?

Very nice!

I'm glad this finally happened and I'm glad this is what you chose. We've had an ongoing "what table to get" discussion offline for months with many options. I'm living a bit vicariously through this one as well, as it's exactly what I want as my "get off the wagon" table, too. I tried that with this table's philosophical polar opposite and ended up hating it in the end (VPI Classic). So, coarse correction someday when I have the coin to do so.

So best of luck! And do keep us informed on its progress. That whole "you ain't gonna kill vibration with mass, you'll just trap it so better to control it and push it out of the audio band" thing that my Harbeths employ is what this is all about. They're among the only audio things I've managed to never want to change...so...

To me, this feels like one of the only different tables out there right now. And one of the ones with the most ingenuity put in it past the early 1980s.

You got it, Anthony. The subplatter is aluminum, and beautifully machined. The bearing is also totally understand Rega-like. I really appreciate a company that is willing to leave it's past behind and just keep improving. You really need to see this guy in the flesh to understand the magnitude of the change.

Thank you!

Yeah, there were so many ways to redo what I have done, but getting something truly new and unique is a greater pleasure.

I did take a bit of a flyer, and with the Canadian dollar being what it is, it was not a cheap purchase. But by the first report, it leaves my Kenwood/FR combo for dead. I'll have more to say about that tomorrow.

I know I've said this before in this thread, but you really have to see it in the flesh to understand the magnitude of what they have done. This is, I think, my 45th turntable, and it is far and away, the most unique. Most unique doesn't begin to describe it. It really is the only one that stands apart from the rest.

Now, if you could only get it with the polished aluminum arm..... :)

Elegant looking deck. Throughout the years I have come to have one foot, at least, firmly planted in the " less is more " camp, and the design speaks loudly of this philosophy.
Great photos , thank you for sharing.

I have noticed a trend here on the Haven. Our members quietly go about deciding which new component is going to work well for them and after due diligence, purchase it. I like that. In other neighborhoods, it seems that it is always put up for public debate. IMHO, the decision to spend serious coin on a product is difficult enough without complicating it with so many different opinions. I am thrilled you found your TT nirvana Erik. You have done well my friend. Enjoy it!
