works for me -- some gen-u-ine film images taken last fall by me using a Nikon F, some Tri-X, and a peculiar, very early Nikon AF 80 mm lens (for film cameras) that is one of the very few legacy lenses that is 100% incompatible with a Nikon DSLR body!

I very much like it; my son's largely swiched to an F2 for his 35 mm film, though (not quite sure why, but I do know he likes his black, brassed and beautiful F2 a whole heap).
