JBL L100 Classic vs. Spendor Classic 2/3 vs. A7

Trying to make a decision between these 3 speakers.

Has anyone compared the 2/3 with the A7? I am not finding any direct comparisons online. The A7 is significantly more popular in the United States and very highly regarded.

The JBL's are sweet looking speakers that get good reviews. I hear conflicting descriptions of these though. Some reviewers describe them as analytical and detailed with a huge sound stage. Other reviews seem to judge them by their boxes, for better or worse, with reviewers commenting about JBL's house sound of the 70's. Obviously the latter is a shallow review that I'm going to ignore. A retro design like this is bound to cause a stir among a wide range of types of audiophiles. The design also has the potential for unwarranted judgement against it. As if the speakers are pure novelty or they are not sophisticated enough for the price tag because they look very much like Pioneer HPM-100's or JBL L36's (which you can find all day for $250 a pair). I do believe that JBL Synthesis by Harman are producing top notch speakers that can compete, but do they compete with Harbeth's $5000 range?

I can get the JBL's with stands for $3200, the A7's (no stands necessary) for $4250, and the 2/3 for the same, but will need stands (probably another $500).

My room is 15' wide by 17' deep. Power will be Luxman L-507uxii or L-509x.

When you say A7...are you referring to a new production Spendor A7?

Based on the other speakers being considered that would be my assumption, and not a vintage Altec A7.. :)
